Wood, wonderful wood
Forget flat-pack. The future is about quality craftsmanship, sustainability and sourcing locally.
Founders Martin Parsons and Craig Murray explain the ethos of Sussex-based, Copsale Oak.
With more than 50 years’ experience between them, the founders of Copsale Oak felt it was time to respond to growing demand for local, bespoke joinery. By combining skills, experience, they then invited talented craftsmen to form an enthusiastic team with robust and complimentary joinery, cabinet-making and construction skills.
"We felt there was a real need for traditional methods at affordable prices using local craftsmen” says Martin. Our clients want modern, classic pieces using natural products, that can also respond to changing lifestyles.”
"We also specialise in replication or partial replacement of existing joinery or furniture” explains Craig who’s been passionate about wood since school and hates to see any waste. “I have a reputation in the workshop for turning the smallest offcut into something useful.
The expanding company has recently relocated to a larger workshop in Billingshurst. “Because we focus on Sussex and Surrey, we encourage clients to visit and see their commission in progress or discuss requirements” explains Martin.
